Expat arrested for trying to deposit fake money at ATM

Muscat: One person of "Asian nationality" was arrested on charges of using counterfeit money, Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced on Wednesday.
According to officials, the accused was nabbed while he was trying to deposit money at a bank ATM.
In a statement, ROP said, "The Criminal Investigation Department led by Muscat Police Command, managed to arrest one person of Asian nationality on charges of fake currency. Following an investigation, he was arrested while he was trying to deposit fake money of OMR20 note at a bank in Mabella area in the wilayat of Seeb."
The accused has been referred to judicial authorities for further investigation and trial.
