Attempt to smuggle marijuana foiled, expat arrested in Oman

Muscat: An expat who was attempting to smuggle marijuana into the Sultanate has been arrested, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced on Wednesday.

Officials revealed that the expat of “Asian nationality” was arrested at Muscat International Airport when officials discovered one kilogram of marijuana hidden inside his luggage.

In a statement online, ROP said “The Directorate General for the Narcotic Control and Psychotropic Substances thwarted a drug smuggling attempt by a person of Asian nationality via Muscat International Airport. The culprit hid one kg of Marijuana in his suitcase.”
