Two citizens arrested on fake currency charges in Oman

Muscat: Two citizens were arrested on charges of counterfeiting currency in the Wilayat of Ibri and Yanqul, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.
One of the accused was found with counterfeit notes worth OMR3,000.
In a statement online ROP said, “The department of criminal investigation, led by the Dhahirah police managed to arrest two citizens over counterfeiting currency charges. One of them was arrested in Yanqul and OMR3,000 of fake currency note of OMR50. were confiscated from him. The other accused was arrested in Ibri.”
Officials added that the accused have been referred to judicial authorities to complete the legal procedures.
