Social insurance launches e-system for worker injuries in Oman

Muscat: The Department of Insurance Inspection is initiating an electronic system for inspecting work injuries on a trial basis, according to the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI).
The department began the trial phase of the electronic inspection system by setting up a two-day workshop for private sector establishments.
The electronic inspection system is an e-system that is used to inspect insurance applications, work-related injuries, and occupational diseases.
Internal systems for the project have already been developed. Some of its main features are the alert system, the block and unblock system, the appropriation system, and vehicle reservation.
The e-system is also linked to the system of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Manpower.
The electronic inspection system aims to reduce companies’ practice of evading their obligation to register the names of insured individuals and the submission of incorrect data by some employers.
“The electronic inspection system is a result of the challenges faced by the inspectors of the authority to complete the inspection process in strict accordance with the digital world,” said Majid Al Rawahi, Director of the Insurance Inspection Department.
“The system allows the applicant to view the movement of their transaction directly through the system without the need to visit the authority or contact the specialist at the agency by telephone.”
Through the workshops, PASI was able to collect suggestions regarding the system, which will be added to the next phase before its actual launch.
