Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Wednesday and closed at 4,457.12 points, up by 0.33 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 633.180 points, up by 0.10 per cent. HSBC Bank Oman was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Anwar Holding, up by 8.57 per cent, while top loser was Oman Cement, which closed lower by 1.64 per cent.
A total number of 716 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.37 million with more than 16.97 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 4 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR365,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR30,000, while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR396,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 1.03 per cent to close at 6,917.62 points. Al Anwar Holding, Oman & Emirates Inv. Holding, Muscat Finance, HSBC Bank Oman and Al Madina Investment were up by 8.57 per cent, 4.50 per cent, 3.61 per cent, 3.33 per cent and 2.22 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Bank Sohar were down by 0.91 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.25 per cent to close at 5,803.290 points. Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 4.04 per cent, 1.06 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Oman Cement was down by 1.64 per cent.
Services Sector Index gained 0.23 per cent to close at 2,412.93 points. ACWA Power Barka, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, National Gas and Al Maha Petroleum Products were up by 4.84 per cent, 3.00 per cent, 1.80 per cent, 0.61 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively. Al Kamil Power was down by 1.55 per cent.
