Ministry of Transport warns people against damaging signboards in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport and Communication has cautioned citizens and residents against damaging or vandalising signboards that it has put up in the Sultanate.
In a notice online, the Ministry said, “We urge all not to break, mutilate, sketch, write or even sabotage the [posters] to the point where it loses its intended purpose, that is the safety of motorists and guiding them along the road."
Officials also said that if people continue to damage these signboards they will be fined.
“Those who act in such a way will be fined up to OMR500 for each signboard that has been mutilated as per stated in the fines and penalties list of roads and facilities protection regulation which was issued by the ministerial decision No. (155/2017),” the notice read.
