Muscat: Athletes will no longer need to travel abroad for treatment of injuries, thanks to the launch of Oman’s first private department of sports medicine physiotherapy.
The centre has been established by the Badr Al Samaa group, in collaboration with the Oman Football Association.
The opening ceremony for the Department of Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy was held at the Grand Hyatt Muscat and featured the Oman National team’s leading striker, Khalid Al Hajri.
The event was attended by Senior management, staff and surgeons from Badr Al Samaa and the Ministry of Health, in addition to officials from the Oman Football Association.
The Centre of Sports Medicine at Badr Al Samaa specializes in the diagnosis, rehabilitation, and surgery for patients with sports-related injuries.
In order to offer the best treatment in sports-related injuries, the department has 19 Orthopaedic surgeons and 12 physiotherapists on staff.
The department offers a solution for all problems related to sports injuries and injuries to knees, shoulders, ankles, elbows and wrists.
This includes clinical evaluations, imaging, diagnosis of injuries, surgical repair and arthroscopic reconstruction of joints.
