Oman share index ends lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended lower on Monday and closed at 4,448.77 points, down by 0.18 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 635.38 points, up by 0.10 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Almaha Petroleum Products, up by 3.33 per cent while top loser was OIFC, which closed lower by 5.66 per cent.
A total number of 461 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.75 million with more than 11.41 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 8 declined and 27 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR221,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR61,000, while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR282,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.36 per cent to close at 6,849.30 points. Al Madina Takaful, HSBC Bank and Vision Insurance were up by 3.23 per cent, 1.71 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Sohar, Alizz Islamic Bank and National Bank Of Oman were down by 2.78 per cent, 2.26 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.19 per cent to close at 5,858.73 points. Galfar Engineering was up by 3.19 per cent. There were no losers on Monday.
Services Sector Index gained 0.05 per cent to close at 2,406.56 points. Al Maha Petroleum Products, OETI and Ooredoo were up by 3.33 per cent, 2.11 per cent and 1.92 per cent respectively. OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, National Gas and Renaissance Services were down by 5.66 per cent, 2.75 per cent, 1.20 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
