Muscat: In efforts to encourage and promote an efficient cashless society, the National Bank of Oman (NBO) launched Badeel, a full-range of pre-paid cards in the Sultanate.
Offered to both existing and new customers, the re-loadable cards can be used for day-to-day purchases, online transactions, and bill payments, all in a secure and reliable manner. The card features a 3D Secure capability ensuring control and safety on electronic transactions to protect against theft and fraud as each transaction must be verified by the customer.
The bank has currently introduced two kinds of cards, one for general use with a limit of OMR1,000 and the other one specifically for youth with a limit of OMR500. Customers can easily apply for the prepaid cards on NBO’s Mobile App and collect it from any of the bank’s 60 branches. Easily activated through the NBO Mobile App, cardholders can use Badeel for local, international, and online purchases with no additional transaction fee.
