Muscat: Oman's Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) will be hosting World Blood Donor Day celebrations on Sunday, June 28, in association with the Ministry of Health.

According to a statement from DBBS, World Blood Donor is commemorated on June 14 every year, but the five-day Eid Al Fitr holidays meant that the celebrations could not take place on the same day.

“By God’s will, we will host a World Blood Donor Day event in association with the Ministry of Health next Sunday, 24 June 2018. This will be a fitting tribute to express gratitude and appreciation for the donors and other contributors to the blood donation campaigns.

“Every few seconds, someone somewhere, needs blood. Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life,” DBBS tweeted.
