Cyclone Mekunu: ICU patients airlifted back to Salalah

Muscat: A number of ICU patients across Oman have been airlifted back to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah from where they were evacuated during Cyclone Mekunu.
The patients were flown back on Royal Air Force of Oman planes to Salalah where they were met by medical teams and ambulances. They were among dozens of people taken to the northern parts of Oman to escape Cyclone Mekunu and continue their treatment elsewhere.
Cyclone Mekunu forced the transfer of 30 patients in critical condition to Al Seeb Airbase where they were joined by 218 dialysis patients and their families, who were also airlifted to Muscat to continue their treatment.
