Oman's tourism drive gains momentum, attractive packages up for grabs

Muscat: The Ministry of Tourism says its ‘Summer Offers 2018’ campaign under the theme ‘Experience Oman’ is gaining traction with a strong influx of regional and international travellers to the Sultanate.
Rolled out on May 21 to revitalise the local tourism sector, the initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote the Sultanate as a leading business and leisure destination in line with the Oman Tourism Strategy 2040.
Under the three-month ‘Summer Offers 2018’, 51 special hotel packages and attractive promotions are up for grabs.
Oman enjoys moderate weather during the summer, with temperatures reaching only up to 25°C in some tourist spots such as Jabal Shams, Jabal Al Akhdar, Dhofar Governorate, Al Ashkharah Beach, several Omani villages and valleys, and beaches in Al Wusta Governorate.
Saleh bin Ali Al Khaifi, Director of Tourism Promotion and Marketing Department, Oman Ministry of Tourism, said: “The highly successful ‘Summers Offers 2018’ continues to attract more tourists from the Gulf region and different parts of the world. Under the theme ‘Experience Oman’, the unique, diversified, and exciting promotional campaign includes attractive offers and packages that allow visitors to enjoy Oman’s beauty, nature, heritage, history, and hospitality.”
Al Khaifi added: “The initiative is enhancing growth in the tourism industry as it enjoins visitors to enjoy the Sultanate’s charm that combines authentic Omani civilisation with nature, in addition to various kinds of sports and leisure activities. The ongoing promotional campaign is the result of our fruitful cooperation with the hospitality industry and strategic partners, including Oman Air and SalamAir, and is part of our shared goal to provide local, regional, and global tourists with a comprehensive portfolio of attractive offerings. We look forward to launching more similar programmes to increase the flow of tourists to the Sultanate in line with Oman Tourism Strategy’s objectives aimed at attracting 11 million visitors from around the world by 2040.”
Among the offers include an enjoyable stay in three, four and five-star hotels with breakfast; airport transfers; 4x4 tours; and visits to Nizwa, Bahla, Jibrin and Jabal Shams.
Additionally, visitors may opt to go on one-day tours in Quriyat, Sur, Nakhl, Rustaq, and Wakan village.
The summer season is an exceptional opportunity to enjoy the Sultanate’s culture, heritage, and nature by visiting the clean beaches of Muscat, fortresses and castles built hundreds of years ago, and world heritage sites.
The ‘Summer Offers 2018’ campaign also includes attractive leisure maritime activities for beach lovers, such as sunset cruises, dolphin watching in the Sea of Oman, hotel accommodations with free breakfast, airport transfers, and cruise tours with scuba diving.
Those who love to fish can enjoy a two-night stay, including breakfast, in select hotels, airport transfers and a four-hour fishing tour.
