Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4601.59 points, up by 0.35 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 654.40 points. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while National Life & General Insurance was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was HSBC Bank Oman, up by 2.61 per cent while Dhofar Cattlefeed down by 8.42 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 155 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR576,000 with more than 3.28 million shares changing hands. Out of 24 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 3 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR24,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR13,000 while Omani investors switched were net sellers for OMR37,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained by 0.54 per cent to close at 7216.48 points, gained by 0.54 per cent. HSBC Bank Oman, Muscat Finance, Gulf Investment Services and Al Madina Takaful gained by 2.61 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day’s session at 6077.18 points, up by 0.31 per cent. National Aluminium and Oman Fisheries increased by 2.47 per cent and 0.88 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattlefeed, Al Anwar Ceramics and Galfar Engineering declined by 8.42 per cent, 0.91 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index down by 0.30 per cent to close at 2,450.88 points. Muscat Gases was the only gainer and was up by 0.64 per cent to close at OMR0.316.
