Man killed by thunderbolt in Bangladesh

Dhaka: A farmer was killed by a thunderbolt in the Bangladeshi village Gujakhair this morning, state media reported.

The deceased was identified as Cigil Mia, 45, a resident of the same village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nabiganj Thana Md Iqbal Hossain said the thunderbolt struck the man while he was catching fish in a haor (wetland area) close to the village in the morning. Cigil Mia died on the spot, he added.
