Oman ‘working to ease’ US-Iran tension: Alawi

Muscat: Oman is working to reduce tension between Washington and Tehran, according to Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, said: “We are working to ease the tension between Washington and Tehran. The danger of a war can harm the entire world.
“Both the American and Iranian sides understand the dangers of a further slide.” His comments were reported by Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Regarding the new plan by the USA for Israel and Palestine, Alawi said: “It is unacceptable for Israel to have a country and Palestine to have tents. This will not be acceptable... this is not a matter of money, but a matter of a nation of ten million people living both within and scattered.
“We know that this is not easy. There will be many difficulties, preparations and discussions, but many of these complications have solutions. Israel and Palestine are in one geographical location, which means that they must have partnerships that benefit both sides.
“Israel must be a friendly country to Palestinians. It must be a country of partnerships, rather than a country that takes. If the American plan does not address all of this, then it will be a flawed plan,” Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs concluded.
