Oman's commerce chamber issues summer midday break notice to companies

Muscat: Workers should not be working at construction sites and areas exposed to high temperatures between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm from June to August, Oman’s commerce regulatory authority has warned.
The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry has advised owners and businessmen on the necessity to comply with Article 16 of the Regulation of Occupational Safety and Health, which states, “Workers will not work in construction sites or open areas of high temperature at noon, from 12:30 pm up to 3:30 pm throughout June, July and August every year.”
For the past week, there has been a rise in temperatures in the Sultanate, "The rise in temperature in Muscat is mainly due to hot winds blowing from the deserts of Saudi Arabia," an official from Public Authority for Civil Aviation said."
