Oman's share Index ends flat

Muscat: MSM30 Index was flat yesterday, closing at 3,842.47 points, down 2.15 points, or 0.06 per cent.
The turnover of OMR591,000 was the lowest in more than last four months.
Shariah Index also closed on a flat note at 525.61 points, down 0.01 per cent.
Al Hassan Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Ooredoo was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Madina Investment, up 4.35 per cent, was the best performing stock yesterday while Galfar Engineering, down 2.53 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 279 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR598,000 with more than 5.91 million shares changing hands.
Out of 39 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 6 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR420,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR220,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR200,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index was the best performing sector index today and closed at 6,254.37 points, up by 0.25 per cent.
Al Madina Investment, National Bank of Oman, Ominvest, and Bank Muscat went up by 4.35 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 0.65 per cent, and 0.50 per cent respectively. Price of Gulf Investment Services went down by 1.82 per cent and closed at OMR0.054.
Industrial Index inched higher by 0.10 per cent and closed at 4,588.96 points. Al Maha Ceramics, Al Anwar Ceramics, and Oman Cement closed higher by 3.83 per cent, 1.03 per cent, and 0.43 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering, was the only stock that declined from the sector, and closed down 2.53 per cent.
The Services Sector Index closed at 1,950.57 points, down by 0.46 per cent. There were no gainers today from the Services Sector. Prices of Phoenix Power, Omantel, Sembcorp Salalah, and Ooredoo declined by 2.38 per cent, 1.47 per cent, 0.88 per cent, and 0.87 per cent respectively.
