MSM index ends lower

Muscat: Stocks in MSM traded lower, and the index closed at 3,844.63 points, down 0.42%.
The MSM Shariah Index also ended lower by 0.19% at 525.65 points.
Al Hassan Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Government Development Bond issue 52 was the most active in turnover.
Al Maha Ceramics, up 2.81%, was the top gainer while the top loser was Al Hassan Engineering, which lost 8.70%.
A total number of 231 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR3.87 million with more than 7.57 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 13 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR420,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR220,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR200,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.48% to end at 6,239.03 points. Al Madina Takaful was the only gaining stock from the sector and closed 1.18% higher. National Bank of Oman, Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Muscat, and Sohar International Bank were down by 2.50%, 1.32%, 1.03%, 0.99%, and 0.92% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,584.16 points, down by 0.13%. Al Maha Ceramics was the only gaining stock, and closed higher by 2.81%. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Voltamp Energy, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Oman Cement were down by 8.70%, 1.67%, 1.18%, 1.02%, and 0.86% respectively.
Services Index gained 0.17% to close at 1,959.64 points. Al Batinah Power, and Al Suwadi Power closed higher by 2.56% each. OIFC, Ooredoo, and Omantel were down by 1.20%, 0.43%, and 0.36% respectively.
