Oman to attend ATM 2018 in Dubai

Muscat: The Ministry of Tourism will represent the Sultanate at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 22 to 25. The Sultanate’s delegation will be led by Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
The theme for ATM 2018 is responsible tourism, including current sustainable travel trends. The Sultanate participates annually in the ATM, one of the largest international gatherings specialising in tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena).
Major players engaged in tourism-related activities participate in the ATM: airlines, hotels, shipping companies and tour organisers.
Haitham Mohammed Al Ghasani, Assistant Director General of the Tourism Promotion Department, stressed the importance of participating in the ATM. “As part of the Sultanate’s National Tourism Strategy 2040, the Ministry of Tourism seeks to introduce the most recently launched services, projects and facilities, such as the opening of the new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport and the launching of the electronic visa. It also aims to promote the Sultanate’s unique cultural heritage, pristine environment and terrain diversity. The Ministry is keen on promoting the Sultanate through this platform to attract international investors and tourists,” he said.
“The Ministry will focus on highlighting Oman as a year-round tourist destination, especially for the GCC tourism market. The summer period, in particular, can be a perfect time to visit this multi-faceted country that offers a monsoon season in Dhofar governorate and cooling mountain escapes, fun-filled water sports experiences for families and an incredible array of cultural and heritage experiences,” he added.
At ATM’s Oman’s pavilion, representatives will highlight the services and facilities that the Ministry of Tourism provides in various tourism destinations.
A total of 25 companies and tourism establishments will participate in this year’s ATM. The list includes Arabian Experience, Al Fawaz Tours, Grand Hyatt Muscat, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Atana Hotels, Crown Plaza Duqm & Salalah & OCEC, Khimji’s House of Travel, Hormuz Grand, The Chedi Muscat, Golden Tulip Hotels, Al Shanfari Hotels & Resorts, Al Siraj Hospitality, Aitken Spence Resorts, Bahwan Tourism, Barakah Travel Management Company & The Guide Oman, Oman Airports Management Company, Six Senses Zighy- Bay Resort, Arabian Explorers, Sama Resort & Spa, Dhofar Municipality, Royal Opera House, Kempinski Hotel Muscat and Al Bustan Palace Ritz-Carlton, Khasab Tours.
