Weather update: PACA advises to take precaution

Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has issued its second report regarding the low pressure weather condition that the Sultanate will experience between May 18 to 22.

According to the report, "Weather analysis of the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates that the Sultanate will be affected by a low pressure located at the centre of the Arabian Peninsula starting Saturday May 18 to Wednesday 22 May 2019.

"The weather will continue to be partly cloudy to cloudy with rain and occasional thundershowers associated with fresh winds and hail over most of the governorates. It is expected that the heaviest rains would be over Al Hajar mountains and its adjoining wilayahs. The heaviest amount of rainfall will range between 30 - 70 mm."

"Sea state will be moderate to rough along most of the Sultanate’s coasts with arrange of wave height between 1.5 to 2.5 meters,” the report added.

"The Public Authority for Civil Aviation advises all to take precaution during rain, wadis and low horizontal visibility and to check the sea state before sailing,” PACA said in a statement.
