Fatma wins doubles crown in Bahrain

Muscat: Omani star Fatma Al Nabhani won her first title of the year when she lifted the doubles crown in the company of Marian Jade Capadicua of the Philippines in the $15,000 Manama ITF Women’s Circuit tournament in the Bahraini capital.
In the summit clash played on Friday, Fatma and Marian overcame an early challenge from top seeded pair of Zimbabwe’s Valeria Bhunu and Great Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith for a straights sets 7-5, 6-2 win.
Earlier in the semifinals, Fatma and Marian upset the Indian second seeds Zeel Desai and Kanika Vaidya in a 3-6, 7-5 (10-4) victory.
Fatma also competed in the singles tournament where her challenge ended in the quarterfinals.
The Omani ffifth seed was beaten 6-1, 6-4 by Slovakian fourth seed Tereza Mihalikova.
