New terminal parking fees announced

Muscat: Passengers who park their cars at the long-term parking area will have to pay more than double at the new Muscat International Airport terminal.
According to Oman Airports' official account,"8,000 parking slots, including short- and long-term stays are available at the new passenger terminal at Muscat Int'l Airport."

At the new airport, the price for half an hour will be 500 Bz.

Here are the rates for short-term parking at the new airport terminal:

Time (Hours) Price (OMR)
0-30min 0.5 (500 Bz)
30min-1 2
1-2 3
2-3 4
3-4 5
4-5 6
5-6 7
6-9 10
9-12 15
12-24 24

Beyond 24 hours, OMR20 will be added daily to the cost.
At the old terminal, users were charged 500 Bz for the first hour, and an additional 500 Bz every hour beyond that.

Here are the rates for long-term parking at the new airport:

Day Price (OMR)
One 7
Two13
Three20

After the third day of long-term parking, an additional OMR5 will be added daily.

The cost for travelers using the long-term car parking zone at the old terminal was OMR3 for the first 24 hours, OMR4 for the second day, OMR5 for the third day and OMR6 for the fourth day. They were charged OMR7 daily from the fifth day onward.
The increase in the cost of long-term parking has received mixed responses. Maryam, an expat living in Oman said: "I was shocked and surprised by the rise in prices of the long-term parking. As I regularly travel, I usually park my car at the airport. This new rate will definitely be heavy in my wallet."
On the other hand, Salim said: "I think that this price is proportionate to the new airport."
