Citizen arrested for peddling drugs in Oman

Muscat: An Omani citizen was arrested on drug trafficking charges, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) revealed.

The anti-narcotics department of North Sharqiyah Police arrested the suspect as he was attempting to make a sale.

ROP said a statement: "The Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control in North al Sharqiya caught an Omani citizen red-handed for the crime of dealing narcotic substances."

ROP has invited the public to help expose narcotics dealers in Oman by calling the phone number 1444.

The statement added, "The Royal Oman Police invites everyone to cooperate in combatting the scourge of narcotica and to report any information regarding that will expose drug dealers and smugglers by calling the nearest police station or the free number 1444.”
