Oreos sold in Oman are Halal, distributor says

Muscat: Oreos in Oman are halal, according to the company in charge of distribution.

Oreo has said in a statement yesterday, "We can assure you that all of our Oreo products made and sold in the GCC are Halal and fully compliant with local laws and regulations."

"Mondolez are proud that Oreo biscuits are manufactured here in the GCC and as a responsible company we always seek to offer our consumers the best quality product, with labeling designed to give clear information about our ingredients and their suitability for their diets," the statement added.

The statement in question has been promoted on social media, and multiple muslims in Oman have seen it appear on their timelines. The statement caused fear among users however, as they asked Oreo about whether their cookies are Halal if they are made outside of the GCC.
