New England: It's New England's third winter storm in just two weeks and up to 20 inches of snow were expected on Tuesday causing school closures, flight cancellations and power outages.
Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker said, "As we all know, today's storm is well underway. We are feeling it across the entire Commonwealth. As of now there are about 175 thousand power outages across the state. We expect to see that number increase especially in the South Shore and the Cape."
In Connecticut, temperatures were dropping. Connecticut Governor Dannel Mallor said, "They're now forecasted in much of the state to be below freezing which means that slush or a coding of water could turn to ice in a matter of 15 or 20 minutes and we could face that challenge."
The storm stretched from New York state across Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts.
1500 U.S. flights had to be cancelled, with winds expected to reach 65 miles per hour. Officials have warned that heavy snow could bring down trees already weakened by the last two storms.
