Ministry of Social Development promotes child protection campaign

Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development promoted Oman's landmark Child Act and Protection Committees, by participating in the 2018 Health Awareness campaign, in the Wilayat of Ibra.
The committees that were launched to protect children from violence, exploitation and abuse, also follow up on children who have already been through such situations and provide physical and social rehabilitation for them.
The Ministry maintains a 24/7 child protection hotline (1100) to combat abuse against children in the country.
Since its launch, the Telecommunications' Regulatory Authority (TRA) has strongly encouraged people to report any case of child abuse through the hotline.
