Cancer survivors to perform at Indian embassy in Muscat on Women’s Day

Muscat: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a musical programme will be organised to raise cancer awareness at the Indian Embassy Auditorium on March 8, 2018.
Named “Healing Harmony”, the programme has been organised by the Maitra Muscat group, in association with the Indian Social Club, Marathi wing.
The one-of-its-kind event is not only going to be a musical treat but also an infotainment session, aimed at educating attendees about cancer, while giving tips to avoid the disease, early detection and a healthy lifestyle.
The session has been well-conceptualised and will be presented by eminent breast surgeon Dr. Shekhar Kulkarni from Pune in India.
He is not only a surgeon but a singer, composer, writer, actor, and director as well. He has a strong team of three women singers, who are members of the Aastha Breast Cancer Support Group in Pune.
These brave women themselves have battled cancer successfully and are truly a great inspiration to society.
Till date, this team has performed more than 115 programmes in India, as well as abroad, which have been widely appreciated.
In appreciation of the noble intentions and social cause, noted Hindi and Marathi actors have supported the programme and participated in one way or the other.
