Road toll plan for Oman under discussion

Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communication is considering building a new road between Thumrait and Salalah for heavyweight trucks.
According to the ministry, the plans include the charging of a toll fee for trucks that will use this road.
This comes after the ministry issued a clarification denying a rumour that was circulating regarding the establishment of a toll system on the existing Thumrait- Salalah road.
"The truth is, the ministry is looking into constructing an entirely new road for trucks between Thamrit and Salalah to transport crushers materials such as gypsum and limestone and imposing fees for the trucks that will be using the route.” - Ministry of Transport and Communication
