Blast in Quetta kills four

Islamabad: At least four policemen were killed in Pakistan when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in a market in the Southwestern city of Quetta, according to authorities.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Abdul Razzaq Cheema confirmed that four policemen were killed while nine others, including two other police officers, were injured in the blast that ripped through a market in Quetta's Satellite Town.

The official added that the IED was planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside.

Pakistan's President Dr Arif Alvi strongly condemned the attack.
