Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index edge down 0.28 per cent to 4958.21 points. MSM Sharia Index ended at 704.16 points, down by 0.29 per cent. Al Jazeira Services was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. National Aluminium was the top gainer, up 6.47 per cent, while the top loser was Construction Materials, down 16.67 per cent.
A total number of 516 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR1.10 million with 5.71 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded securities, 5 advanced, 17 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR93,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR87,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR180,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index fell by 0.28 per cent at 7294.56 points. Bank Dhofar and HSBC Bank Oman increased by 1.94 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates, Al Batinah Development, Al Madina Investment and Al Sharqiya Investment declined by 5.41 per cent. 4.71 per cent, 3.51 per cent and 2.61 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index down by 0.35 per cent to finish at 6764.89 points. National Aluminium was the only gainer and was up by 6.47 per cent to close at OMR0.247. Oman Cement, Al Anwar Ceramics, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries declined by 1.99 per cent, 1.54 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively.
Services Index down by 0.37 per cent to end at 2622.37 points. Al Jazeira Services and Muscat City Desalination gained by 1.18 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Omantel. National Gas, and OIFC fell by 3.62 per cent, 1.29 per cent and 0.76 per cent respectively.
