Morocco heritage sites attract over 1 million tourists

Rabat: Over one million people visited heritage sites in Morocco during the first four months of the year, the country's Ministry of Culture announced.

From January to April, around 1.2 million were recorded at heritage sites in the country, a 26 percent increase compared to the year before.

Most of that amount were predominately visited three sites. The ministry stated that 640,131 visited the Archaeological Site of Volubilis near the northern city of Meknes, while the Bahia Palace in the central city of Marrakech and the Chellah necropolis in the capital Rabat attracted over 400,000 people each.
