40th day of the late Mohsin bin Haider Darwish departure

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful and Most Gracious
It is with a mixed feeling of deep sadness and hesitation that I am writing about the deplorable and untimely departure of one of the prominent business figures of our beloved country. A highly respected figure who loved the homeland from the bottom of his heart and preferred to stay on its soil despite the harshness of life before the blessed renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The hesitancy to highlight the virtues of late Mohsin bin Haider Darwish came from the fact that it is not an easy job to enumerate his good works, efforts and positive and fruitful initiatives in support of the development of the Omani national economy. His achievements are visible and clearly known to the people of this benevolent country.
Through his dedication and strenuous endeavors, he established numerous successful and influential economic establishments operating in the field of finance and economy.
Highest honour
He was graciously granted the highest honour of His Majesty the Sultan by choosing him for the membership of the highest legislative, executive and economic bodies, councils and committees, most notably the membership of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman in recognition of his abilities and expertise in the field of finance and economy.
Kind, thoughtful and passionate for knowledge, he had a distinctive influence in all the positions and posts he held. However, his choice was to devote himself to managing his leading business establishments for the benefit and good of Oman and its people.
It was thanks to him that these establishments are now having their prestigious profile and fingerprint that cannot be overlooked in all areas of our country.
Mohsin Haider Darwish was a loyal, loving and devout man with loyalty and love to Oman. His departure was absolutely a deplorable loss to his bereaved family and the people of Oman as well. Therefore, large masses, including his family members, friends, colleagues and others who knew his virtues took part in the grand funeral of his body to its final resting place in a sad and solemn procession.
We are grateful that his giant and successful economic establishments will continue to provide their message and make their contribution to the nation under the management of his successors who have effectively learned from his vast experience and virtuous morals. They will adopt the same approach that he depicted for them and will continue to support Oman’s economy, a generation after another.
We pray to Almighty Allah to bestow upon him mercy, make his grave a garden of the paradise and give his family patience and solace.
