Oman’s share index ends on a flat note

Muscat: The MSM30 Index closed on a flat note at 5,003.67 points, up 0.02 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.11 per cent to end at 711.30 points. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Bank Nizwa was the top gainer, up 2.27 per cent, while Al Hassan Engineering was the top loser, down 8.82 per cent.
A total number of 671 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating turnover of OMR2.18 million with 11.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded securities, 7 advanced, 15 declined and 17 remained unchanged. Omani investors remained net buyers for OMR531,00 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR346,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR185,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index advanced 0.13 per cent to close at 7,401.42 points. Bank Nizwa, Oman Qatar Insurance, Al Anwar Holding, Al Izz Bank and Al Sharqia Investments increased 2.27 per cent, 2.08 per cent, 1.88 per cent, 1.35 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Holding, United Finance, Al Madina Investments, Gulf Investment Services and Vision Insurance declined 2.91 per cent, 2.31 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index retreated 0.48 per cent to finish at 6,770.49 points. Oman Fisheries, up 0.73 per cent, was the sole gainer. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Refreshments, Al Maha Ceramics and Al Anwar Ceramics declined 8.82 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 2.40 per cent and 0.76 per cent respectively.
Services Index declined 0.27 per cent to end at 2,647.53 points. Renaissance Services, National Gas, OIFC, MCDC and Omantel declined 1.76 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 0.75 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
