2,000 boxes of contraband cigarettes seized by ROP

Muscat: Police in Noth Al Batinah arrested an individual carrying 2,000 packs of illegacigarettes.
"The patrol of the Al-Wajaja police station found a four-wheel-drive vehicle without number plates in a valley. Inside the vehicle, more than 2,000 packs of cigarettes were found," police said.
A spokesperson added, "The vehicle was found with equipment used for smuggling. After a search and investigation, the driver was arrested while attempting to leave the Sultanate."
