More than 1.5 tonnes of meat destroyed by Oman municipal authorities

Muscat: Over one-and-a-half thousand kilograms of meat was destroyed by Municipal authorities in Dhofar, with the agency discarding 1,634 kg of meat "unfit for human consumption".

An official from Dhofar Municipality said, "Municipal slaughterhouse witnessed the destruction of 1634 kg of meat unsuitable for human consumption within January," as part of the "municipality's keenness on the public health of the individual and society, through the implementation of precautionary measures in place by the municipality to inspect carcasses and ensure their safety and free of diseases and their suitability for human consumption".

The Dhofar Municipality also called on citizens and residents to always check the freshness of meat they purchase, and to benefit from slaughterhouse services provided by the Municipality.
