Three arrested for car drifting, reckless driving in Oman

Muscat: Three people were arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for endangering lives of pedestrians and motorists, announced the ROP.
According to the police, one driver was arrested after he posted a video of himself while performing dangerous stunts on the road, the second was arrested for driving on the wrong side of the road and the third person was arrested for drifting.
A statement released by ROP on twitter referring to the first driver read, “Referring to what has been discussed on social media about a person showing off [stunts on his] vehicle on the roads and endangering the walkers lives, the general traffic department confirms that legal action was taken against the perpetrator of this act."
In a second tweet, the ROP added, “And another was driving in the opposite direction of traffic and endangering road users. The General Traffic Department confirms that legal action has been taken against those who committed this act."
In connection to the third person, the ROP said, "With regards to what has been circulating around social media, of an individual drifting on the main road, the department of traffic at the Royal Oman Police would like to affirm that all legal procedures have been taken against the individual."
The ROP reiterated its call for everyone to abide by traffic rules and regulations to help make Oman's roads safer for all users.
