Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Oman on two-day visit

Muscat: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India arrived here this evening on a two-day visit to the Sultanate during which he will be given an audience by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers led the welcoming party for the guest and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival at the Royal Airport.
The guest was given an official welcome ceremony. When the airplane carrying the guest came to a stop in the place specified for it, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said received and welcomed him in the Sultanate, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a successful visit and a pleasant stay.
Then, the guest introduced his accompanying senior officials to Sayyid Fahd.
After that, Sayyid Fahd accompanied the guest to the dais of honour where the Protocols Guard of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) performed the salute and the National Anthem of India and the Royal Anthem of Oman were played.
Then, the Commandant of the Protocols Guard proceeded to the dais to obtain permission from the guest and Sayyid Fahd to inspect the front column of the Protocols Guard.
After inspecting the Protocols Guard, the guest then shook hands with the welcoming party members comprising ministers, the Head and members of the Mission of Honour that will accompany him, Ambassador of the Moroccan Kingdom to the Sultanate (Dean of the Diplomatic Corps), senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and Royal Oman Police (ROP) and members of the Indian Embassy in the Sultanate.
During the visit, the Indian Prime Minister is accompanied by an official delegation National Security Adviser, Foreign Secretary, Secretary (ER), Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Accredited Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate, Joint Secretary to the Prime Minister, Joint Secretary (Gulf), Joint Secretary (External Publicity) Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs and a number of officials.
