Customs officers go high tech at Sohar Port

Muscat: Oman Customs has launched a mobile tablet service for customs officers to use during inspections and at checkpoints.
"Sohar Port is the first customs port that has applied for this service," the General Directorate of Customs in Oman said.
"The aim of tablets is to help in the speed and efficiency of inspections, and to facilitate checkpoints operations," added Oman Customs.
The services provided by the tablet include physical inspection, documentary checks, warehouse freezone inspection and data syncing.
