Muscat: Five people were arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) on charges of possession and sale of drugs in North Al Batinah, ROP stated online.
A spokesman said: "The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department, led by police in the North Al Batinah, managed to arrest three accused of smuggling and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and abuse in Sohar."
The spokesman added that two more citizens were arrested on the same charges in ِAl Khaburah, with heroin found on their possession.
All the accused were referred to the judicial authorities for further investigations.
