Muscat: Led by the world renowned Ghatam (South Indian Percussion) legend, Vikku Vinayakaram, ‘GuruNada Samarpanam’ – A Percussive Consonance of Rhythms will be staged on Friday, the 2nd of February, 2018 at Hotel Sheraton Oman, Muscat.

This delightful showcase brought to you by Orbit Events Management will feature a music ensemble that brings with itself a rare legacy of musicians spanning across three generations.

Padma Bhushan Sri. Vikku Vinayakram has created music that is eternal and a body of work for generations to take inspiration from. His contribution to the world of music is unequalled.

With several highly coveted national accolades, he is also the recipient of Grammy Award. His performance with Dr. L Shankar & Sri. Zakir Hussain to create Best World Music Album ‘Raga Aberi’ is etched in memories of music lovers.

Many, in his last performance at Royal Opera House-Muscat, experienced his percussive mastery when he performed for ‘Sounds of Rhythm’ with several other international celebrities.

On Mandolin will be Sri. U Rajesh. He has several acclaimed works and has worked with John McLaughlin on a Grammy nominated album - 'Floating Point'.

He brings to the stage a musical heritage that traces its lineage to his brother, the late great mandolin maestro – Sri. U Srinivas.

V Selvaganesh, yet another celebrity & son of Sri Vikku Vinayakram will be on Kanjira (South Indian frame drum). Like father, his contribution to bringing Carnatic music on the world map is unmatched.
Admired for his immaculate style and innate creativity, he collaborates with musicians across the globe in genre bending interpretations.

Master Swaminathan, the grandson of Sri. Vikku Vinayakram will also be part of the ensemble. Regarded as a child prodigy by many stalwarts of Carnatic music under the mentorship of his father.
