Sayyid Fahd receives Union for International Cancer Control president

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Tuesday received Princess Dina Mired Al Hussein, President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) who is currently visiting the Sultanate to prepare for 2020 World Cancer Leaders Summit in Muscat. Sayyid Fahd welcomed Princess Dina Mired Al Hussein and her accompanying delegation.
He reviewed the importance of the role being played by the UICC in deepening the world communication and supporting states’ policies in health fields.
He also affirmed the Sultanate’s keenness under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in promoting cooperation with the UICC, particularly in fields of awareness and provision of complete care means.
Conversation during the meeting touched on relations of cooperation between the Sultanate and the UICC in areas of healthcare, environment and therapeutic services.
Princess Dina Mired Al Hussein expressed her gratitude and that of her accompanying delegation to visit the Sultanate.
She commended the major efforts exerted to provide healthcare for citizens and residents, as well as the remarkable progress at the level of services in hospitals within the framework of the renaissance being witnessed by the country, thanks to the royal care of His Majesty the Sultan.
She also expressed her appreciation of Oman Cancer Association (OCA) chaired by Dr. Wahid bin Ali Al Kharousi, affirming the Sultanate’s positive role in supporting the UICC activities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Wahid bin Ali Al Kharousi, OCA Chairman, Dr. Khalid bin Jabar Al Thani, Chairman of the GCC Cancer Association and Jessica Mathieu, Head of Events and Congress at UICC.
