Passport warning for Filipinos in Oman

Muscat: Filipino residents who live and work in Oman have been told by their embassy in Muscat that passports that have received a handwritten or manual extension will no longer be honoured.

Instead, all Filipino nationals in the Sultanate will be required to apply for automated extension before their passports expire.

“Filipino nationals in Oman are advised to apply for a renewal of their passports before it expires so as to not be unduly inconvenienced when travelling or when renewing Oman residency/labour cards,” said a statement by the Philippine Embassy in Oman.

“The Philippine Embassy in Muscat was informed by the Sultanate of Oman that Omani authorities will no longer honour Philippine passports with validities that have been extended manually,” added the statement.”
