An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale occurred in Arabian Sea on Tuesday morning, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre at Sultan Qaboos University. Speaking to Times of Oman, an official said that the epicenter of the earthquake is around 320 km away from Duqm, and occured at around 11:44 am.
As a follow-up to the 47th National Day Celebrations last month, Mitsubishi, represented in Oman by General Automotive Company (GAC), has launched an exclusive four day offer. The bodies of Indian fishermen, who went missing following Cyclone Ockhi, have not washed up on Oman’s coast, the Indian embassy in Muscat clarified last week. There were rumours that the bodies of Indian fishermen had washed up on the Omani coast after Cyclone Ockhi wreaked havoc on the western coast of India. More than 600 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Kerala are still missing after Cyclone Ockhi ravaged parts of south and western India a fortnight ago.
Al Naseem and Al Amerat parks will be temporarily closed from December 18, Muscat Municipality (MM) has announced. "In preparation for the launch of the Muscat Festival 2018, Muscat Municipality announces the closure of Al Naseem and Al Amerat parks," the agency announced online.
