Fitch forecasts rise in Oman gas output from next year

London: BMI Research of Fitch Ratings expected “that the production of natural gas in the Sultanate during 2018 will rise by 14.4 per cent and that the increase will reach 17.5 per cent in 2019.
A new report issued by BMI Research entitled “Oman’s Energy Sector: First Quarter of 2018” stated that the outlook for Oman’s energy sector is generally positive.
The report, published by Market Research, said that the Sultanate’s government has committed itself to expanding the available resources in order to cope with the increasing demand for energy, pointing to several important thermal energy projects being planned or implemented with the support of large reserves.
The report pointed out that the renewable energy sector in the Sultanate is now in the stages of development, noting that more rapid growth requires further incentives for investors.
