Oman Cricket: HCC clinch BJM Trophy

Muscat: Holiday Cricket Club (HCC) recorded a six-wicket victory over Abhimany Cricketers to lift the title at the BJM Trophy cricket tournament organised by Biruva Jawaner Muscat (BJM) at Al Ansab Ground recently.
In a keenly-contested final, Abhimanyu Cricketers scored 36 for the loss of four wickets in six overs. In reply, HCC scored 37 runs in 5.1 overs losing four wickets in the process.
Earlier in the semifinals, Abhimanyu Cricketers defeated Muscat Steel by five runs and HCC posted a seven-wicket win over National Gas.
Besides the trophies, HCC and Abhimanyu Cricketers were presented with OMR 175 and OMR 125 respectively.
Rakesh of HCC emerged the player of the tournament while Abhimanyu Cricketers’ Kiran and Sachin Shetty took the best batsman and best bowler awards respectively.
A total of 16 teams took part in the tournament.
Results:
Final: Abhimanyu Cricketers 36 for 4 in 6 overs (Sachin 21; Murtaza 3/22) lost to HCC 37 for 4 in 5.1 overs (Jithu 13 n.o., Rakesh 13; Sachin 2/21).
Semifinals: Abhimanyu Cricketers 85 for 6 in 8 overs (Kiran 26, Deepak 19, Ravi 14; Shanu 4/34) bt Muscat Steel 80 for 4 in 8 overs (Zahid 27, Rashid 10).
National Gas 28 for 7 in 7 overs (Pradeep 2/6, Murtaza 2/4, Rakesh 2/8) lost to HCC 29 for 3 in 5.3 overs (Rakesh 12 n.o.).
