Two-day Future Foresight Forum set to kick off

Muscat: The activities of a two-day forum titled ‘Future Foresight Forum’ will kick off today under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture who is also chairman of the Main Committee for Oman Future Vision 2040.
The forum will shed light on the international, regional and national trends on issues of concern to the Omani society. The forum also aims to identify the main aspects for development of the Oman Vision 2040. The forum aims to provide innovative solutions to the challenges which the Sultanate may face in order to sustain economic growth and social welfare by 2040.
The forum, which is being held at Oman Convention and Exhibitions Centre, will attract a number of international experts who will deliver speeches lectures on issues at the forum. The forum will cover the future international, regional and local trends in a number of issues including geopolitics, international relations, economic changes, information technology and communications, renewable energy, demographic and social changes and the future of cities among other topics.
Oman Future Vision 2040 is a national scheme established by a Royal Order of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
