Oman's share index closes higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,965.96 points, up by 0.51 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended lower by 0.02 per cent at 533.37 points. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume while Government Bonds Issue 60th led in turnover for the day. Bank Dhofar, up 4.55 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman Fisheries, which lost 3.17 per cent.
A total number of 309 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR20.12 million with more than 8.12 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 7 declined and 17 remained unchanged.
Financial Index increased 0.76 per cent to end at 6,386.03 points. Bank Dhofar, Sohar International Bank, Bank Nizwa, Al Anwar Holding and Ahli Bank was up by 4.55 per cent, 1.8 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful was the sole loser declining by 1.14 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 4,636.19 points, down by 0.20 per cent. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement lost 1.23 per cent and 3.17 per cent respectively.
Services Index had a loss of 0.24 per cent to close at 2,029.32 points. Increasing by 1.22 per cent, OIFC was the sole gainer while Sembcorp Salalah, Renaissance Services, Ooredoo and Omantel were down by 0.83 per cent, 0.79 per cent, 0.4 per cent and 0.39 per cent respectively.
