The event was held on September 14 at the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa. As many as 450 sponsors and guests attended the ball.
The Battle of Britain Ball committee presented the cheque to Dr Wahid Ali Al Kharusi, Chairperson, Dar Al Hanan.
The donation was handed over by Group Captain Toby Craig, Senior British Loan Service Officer, Royal Air Force.
Group Captain Craig said: “The Royal Air Force Loan Service Team in Oman is once again delighted to support Dar Al Hanan in helping young cancer sufferers who need it the most.
“We hold the Battle of Britain Loan Service Ball every September and, with the continued support of our sponsors, raise a significant amount of money for charity.
“In 2018, the Royal Air Force will celebrate its 100th birthday, so the ball will have extra significance and will form a part of our celebration.” The committee has been donating a considerable proportion of the proceeds from the ball to the Dar al Hanan project for the past six years, added Craig.
