Oman tennis: Munir Al Rawahi wins doubles title, singles second place in Riyadh

Muscat: Young Omani talent Munir Al Rawahi won the doubles title and the singles second place in the Asian Under-14 Tennis Championship held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In the singles final, Munir gave a good account of himself before going down to his doubles partner Mohammed Al Qatan of Kuwait 6-0, 0-6, 6-7 (4).

In the doubles final, Munir and Mohammed Al Qatan defeated Saudi Arabia’s Qasim Abdan and Abdulaziz Al Rajih in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to clinch the title.

Munir Al Rawahi, along with the Omani delegation chief Ahmed Al Yafiei, returned home on Saturday when they were received at the Muscat International Airport by Oman Tennis Association chief Khalid Al Aadi and the other officials.
