Pact signed for 620-bed hospital in Salalah to celebrate National Day

Muscat: A new Sultan Qaboos Hospital project with a capacity of 620 beds will be built at Salalah, the Ministry of Health announced. The seven-storied Sultan Qaboos New Hospital project will be built on an area of more than 200,000 metres, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
The new Sultan Qaboos Hospital project will have 16 sections for monitoring all specialities, an integrated day clinic centre, an accident and emergency department unit, an accident and emergency section for children, a kidney unit, a burn and orthodontic unit.
The hospital in Salalah will also include a central laboratory for the hospital, an intensive care unit for adults, a paediatric intensive care unit, a middle care unit, a prenatal care unit, a rehabilitation unit and operating rooms.
In addition, the hospital will have a stroke unit, maternity wards, a chemotherapy unit, a private ward, a medical education and training centre, a recreation area for visitors and other auxiliary services. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, signed the agreement with the Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar to construct the hospital.
The hospital project coincides with the celebration of the country’s 47th National Day.
